Do you remember? If the answer is No or Not much, read the article and build your reminder mechanism.
It’s not a trick
In the previous article, I told you a story about a padishah who received a lot of precious stones.
One of the responses* I got following this article, was provocative and now I want to talk about some very handy techniques we can use to remind things without using technology.
Which is very good, don’t get me wrong. I use it a lot, as you can see. But I advocate for using our innate or acquired abilities to their fullest capacity. One of the greatest sins is the annihilation, knowingly or not, of human potential.
So let’s move on. How much do you remember from the previous story? Read it or re-read it after going through this article.
Technique 1
The story is full of colors: diamonds, sapphires, rubies and topazes. Check if your memory is a visual one. In other words, are you able to remember the details of the story more easily by imagining the colored stones? Seeing them with the eyes of your mind? Try a short movie, and make a story to watch. With details of colors, shapes, and a padishah. See if you remember more easily this way and then compare it with the previous result.
Technique 2
You may have a very organized mind and work well in clear schemes. It will be easier for you if you pay attention to the numbers and proportions in the story, with which you build a logical, unbeatable scheme. How many stones of each, how were divided, and for what purpose? Even the numbers need a motivation to exist.
Technique 3
Or maybe you have a history with precious stones and the story brings back the emotions you once experienced. If you usually live strongly through emotions, you may find that affective memory is what helps you remember and recall the most. After all, you don’t even need to have had a story of your own with jewels, it’s enough to imagine yourself as a padishah, to feel that you are the one who acts and enjoys the shining beauties.
*The answer was like this: “I did the exercise exactly. But now what do I do with so many rings?”
